By capturing the story of young, veteran-owned franchisees building a multi-unit Floyd’s business early in their careers, FranchiseFilming created a video designed to challenge the idea that ownership is something you do later in life.
Floyd’s 99 Barbershop partnered with FranchiseFilming to bring its franchise story to life through professional video storytelling.
With a culture built around Passion, Community & Fun and a franchise system known for the energy inside every shop, Floyd’s had a strong foundation. What the brand needed was a way to translate that culture into something prospective franchisees could feel before stepping into a location. Specifically, a way to challenge the idea that franchise ownership is something you wait for, and to show a real example of young, veteran-led ownership building a multi-unit business now.
Together, we focused on capturing what makes a Floyd’s owner story feel real: the moment someone decides not to wait, the leadership skills carried over from military service, the family life being built alongside the business, and the community connection that grounds the work. The result is a story-driven video designed to support franchise development, brand credibility, and the kind of emotional resonance that helps the right candidate take the next step.
This project was designed to support franchise recruitment, brand trust, and candidate connection by creating a high-quality video asset aligned with Floyd’s 99 identity.
Floyd’s 99 has the kind of energy, culture, and momentum that makes for a compelling franchise opportunity. The challenge is not the brand. It is a quiet assumption that lives in the back of many candidates’ minds: that ownership is something you do later, after a long career, once everything else is in place.
For Floyd’s, that assumption gets in the way. The brand attracts candidates from every stage of life, including veterans, mid-career professionals, and people building careers through ownership early on. But traditional marketing materials make it difficult to fully communicate what early ownership actually looks like, what it feels like to lead a Floyd’s team, and how a real franchisee balances growing a multi-unit business with the rest of life.
For Floyd’s, that gap shows up in everyday ways:
Without professional video storytelling, much of the most compelling proof inside the Floyd’s system stays invisible, leaving candidates to imagine the experience instead of seeing it.
Floyd’s 99 turned to story-driven video to translate the energy of the brand into something candidates could connect with on a human level.
By capturing the personal story of real Floyd’s owners, including the decision to not wait, the leadership skills built through years of military service, and the family life unfolding alongside the business, FranchiseFilming helped translate the Floyd’s franchise opportunity into something candidates could actually see. The video was designed to introduce a different kind of franchisee story to the market: one where ownership is happening earlier, with momentum, and on the owners’ terms.

Rather than relying on scripted messaging, the focus stayed on real people, real environments, and the real reasons behind the work. The final 90-second video was built to land emotionally with candidates and to support Floyd’s franchise development efforts across digital channels.
We work with the brand to identify the franchisee whose story will resonate most, then build a tailored interview guide around the specific angle that story needs to carry.
